It is with great pleasure that I am writing with an incredible update. Since we launched our Annual Appeal we have surpassed the halfway mark of our fundraising goal!
Thanks to the 1:1 matching offered from a pair of generous benefactors, we are able to double the impact of all donations made before November 30th. These funds are necessary in order for us to cover increasing operational costs at Kailash Home in Kathmandu.
To take full advantage of the matching challenge, we must raise an additional $9,000 before the deadline.
As you know supporting HYF is a direct investment in the education and futures of the children at Kailash. The gift you give today will have an impact for years, even decades to come. Unlike many other charitable organizations, HYF has always been committed to a policy that ensures every dollar contributed by individual sponsors goes directly to supporting their specific child. That means that none of our the sponsorsβ annual donations are diverted to administrative costs. But in a year of global challenge we find ourselves in a position of increasing administrative costs as the Foundation and our international partners create and implement new programs and measures to keep all of our Kailash Kids healthy and receiving a top notch education even as schools in Nepal remain shuttered.
In the face of these new costs and with the future of the Foundation and well being of our children always front of mind, the Himalayan Youth Foundation Board recently decided to launch an Annual Appeal to raise these vitally important funds. We need to raise $40,000 to cover a year of administrative costs at Kailash. There is no better time to contribute to this important fund, as HYF friends Alan and Patricia Bickell have generously agreed to provide a matching 1:1 challenge through the month of November!
That means every dollar you give by November 30 will be matched, up to $20,000! Through the generosity of the Bickells your single dollar becomes two, your $500 becomes $1000, your $10,000 becomes HALF of our fundraising goal.
